I was born in Colombia and spent my first five years in Bogotá before my family moved to Calgary, Canada, where I grew up. I studied Mechanical Engineering and later completed a Master’s in Robotics at the University of Toronto (ranked #17 globally and #1 in Canada for Engineering & Technology in the 2025 QS rankings).
I’ve always enjoyed understanding how things work and tackling practical problems, and robotics felt like a natural way to bring together those interests across different areas of engineering. After finishing my studies in 2024, I moved to Perth, Australia, to continue building my career in robotics and automation.
Backpacking Adventures
Across Continents
I only really started travelling once I became an adult, and it quickly became something I love. I’ve backpacked through Colombia, gone coast to coast across Canada and spent time exploring much of Western Europe and Southeast Asia, usually staying in hostels with other likeminded backpackers.
I really enjoy the sense of independence and the mix of people and stories that come with travelling this way. Next on my list is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and going on a safari in Kenya.
An Active Lifestyle Filled with Sports and Exploration
Outside of work, I like staying active and trying new things. I play and watch American football, lift weights regularly, go salsa dancing, and go scuba diving when I get the chance.
I’m also into trying out new adventurous activities like skydiving, white water rafting, paragliding, and bungee jumping whenever the opportunity comes up.
